For folks not in the know, which at this point I imagine is not a large group among those who occasionally or regularly dip in here, I have become an avid collector of physical collections of mythology, folktales, and legends. Many of the volumes I prize most in my collection are put out through an outfit called Flametree Publishing, in these large, gorgeously designed hardcover tomes. Gathered together, they are simply stunning to look at on a shelf.
For a while, I was picking them up one at a time every month or so from my nearby Half Price Books, a retailer of books and bookish things based out of Texas, and with stores all across the country. But my local store hasn't had any new ones (well, that I don't already have) in a while. Kind of a bummer, but since I've been relatively tight on budget lately, not a major concern.
Well, Flametree put out a small announcement the other day that they are now partnering with Half Price to do what's referred to as 'Catalogue Rotation', meaning that they're going to regularly switch up which of their titles they'll be sending to each Half Price location! It's a small thing, but I'm superbly happy about this bit of news; it means I have a chance to go snag the collections I don't already have for my mythology set!
I know, not exactly Earth-shaking stuff, folks, but it makes me smile.

Flame Tree is one of the best indie presses out there. Not just the covers, but the concepts.
